Pioneer of AI Risk Literacy
Claudia Otto
The AI Risk Literacy initiative is the direct result of foundational research by its founder, Claudia Otto, a German lawyer and researcher.
Recognising a critical gap in how AI-related risk is understood, she dedicated her master's thesis in Safety, Security & Disaster Management (MBA) to developing a new, practical framework. It provides a clear methodology and a standardised process for AI risk assessment and introduces a novel technique for visualising AI-specific risk, enabling a new way to assess and communicate it for management decisions.
Awarded the highest possible distinction, this research forms the intellectual core of the AI Risk Literacy platform. Its mission is to establish a new global standard for the responsible development, deployment, and governance of AI technologies. This expertise is further demonstrated by her lectureship on the laws and ethics of GenAI in Finance at the University of Oxford and her research on the profound societal impacts of AI at the Fresenius University of Applied Sciences, Germany.
